Race 1 has post time of 1:00 ET and will start the New York Showcase Day with 10 two-year-old fillings going 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf.
The stakes start in race 3 with an accomplished field of stakes winners for the Fleet Indian for 3-year-old fillies on the main track. Sunset Ridge headlines the field looking to stay undefeated in her stakes debut for trainer Chad Brown.
What a Catch will be one of the favorites in Race 5 for trainer Todd Pletcher, shooting for his second-straight stakes win from the outside post with Hall of Fame rider John Velazquez. Pletcher also saddles Analyze the Odds, who finished a distant 3rd behind What a Catch in the Rockville Centre Stakes. Morning Breez finished 2nd six lengths behind as the favorite in that race, and will take another shot in the Funny Cide.
Race 7 is the 38th running of the Yaddo Stakes, and Chad Brown-trained Fourstar Crook brings her 8-race win streak with her to challenge nine other rivals. Javier Castellano rides the 5-year-old looking for her fifth straight stakes win as well.
I Still Miss You has finished 1st and 2nd in her two stakes starts, and Castellano will try to bring the 2-year-old filly to the winners circle again in the Seeking the Ante Stakes in Race 8.
Race 9 is the West Point Stakes, presented by Trustco Bank, and long-time rivals King Kreesa and Kharafa, who finished one-two respectively in last year’s contest at 1 1/16 miles on the turf, will battle again. Scat Daddy colt Get Jets provides stiff competition with Velazquez in the irons.
Heading up the field for the $250,000 Albany to close out the day’s stakes is Twisted Tom, winner of the New York Derby at Finger Lakes last month. Twisted Tom finished 6th in the Belmont Stakes in June. Chad Brown and Javier Castellano team up again.
Also exiting the New York Derby are Broken Engagement, Pat On the Back, Can You Diggit and Dynamax Prime, who finished second, third, fourth and last, respectively.
Enjoy all the state-bred races from Saratoga, and your pursuit of more winners!
