New ShowVivor Contest is Free at Santa Anita
The New Year officially begins in horse racing with the opening day of the Santa Anita winter-spring meet Dec. 26. The $1 million guarantee pick-4 will attract plenty of attention and betting interest, and the folks at Santa Anita hope to keep casual racing fans more engaged with a new contest called ShowVivor.
The contest is free to enter and has five different cash prizes totaling $5,000. There are five different ways to win, and for the best chance to win, you will want to play every live race day. It’s fun and easy, as you just pick one horse in one race per day to compete in the categories listed below.
The five categories are:
Longest Show Streak ($2,500)
Longest Win Streak ($1,000)
Total Wins ($500)
Total Places ($500)
Win Payout ($500)
- Details on how the ShowVivor contest works are here, along with the official rules. All eligible races to select a horse must be a seven (7) horse field or more.
Serious handicappers have a few more weekends to qualify for the National Handicapping Championship Jan. 27-29, 2017 at Treasure Island (TI) in Las Vegas. There are a number of smaller entry feeder tournaments online through the Daily Racing Form, and a few $300 qualifying tournaments to the NHC on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Weather your playing for bigger prize money or fun free tournaments, contests like the ShowVivor at Santa Anita provide players a chance to play the ponies and have fun following horse racing.
