go to these guys check out this site The third pool of the 2017 Kentucky Derby Futures Wager opened and closed over the weekend, and did very little to offer clarity as we march towards the Triple Crown. A brash number of upsets have literally turned the trail in to a chaotic roller coaster with favourites falling by the wayside. Handicappers and horse players alike are trying to stay ahead of the curve, which is becoming no easy task.
Classic Empire and McCraken opened as the two favourites heading to the weekend boasting 8/1 odds. However the former saw his odds increase to 11/1 after a loss at the Holy Bull Stakes. McCraken creeped forward as the proverbial top choice with 6/1 odds by the end of the weekend.
The big unknown in the 2017 Kentucky Derby Futures Wager market remains Mastery, who has not run yet this year. Closing 2016 with wins at the Bob Hope Stakes and the Los Alamitos Futurity, the Cheyenne Stables prodigy is slated to make his debut at the 2017 San Felipe Stakes in two weeks. There is some drama there as well as he may be slated directly against Classic Empire.
Irish War Cry, who upset the 2017 Holy Bull Stakes, saw the biggest improvement as he moved from 12/1 to 7/1 and is now the clear cut second choice in the 2017 Kentucky Derby Futures Wager. The three-year-old colt is expected to lead the field at the Fountain of Youth Stakes this coming weekend.
The field held fast at 5/1 after opening at 4/1, and could very well be the best option considering how the derby trail is unfolding.
Top offspring out of leading stallion Uncle Mo didn’t fare that well in the 2017 Kentucky Derby Futures market either. Both Royal Mo and Mo Town were 15/1 prospects heading in to the weekend, but saw their odds inflate at an alarming rate. Royal Mo is now 36/1 and Mo Town is a seemingly excessive 27/1.
By this time last year, Nyquist was a clear cut favourite, but we don’t have that luxury this season. That makes for a harrowing prep race season as we anticipate the 2017 Kentucky Derby futures themselves, but it also means that all bets remain greenlit until further notice. Keep your eyes close to the tracks.
The fourth and final pool of the 2017 Kentucky Derby Futures Wager will be available March 31st through April 2nd.
